Abstract
In order to improve the radar's anti-interference ability and survivability, this paper designs a battlefield online editable arbitrary waveform generator. The arbitrary waveform generator uses a field programmable logic gate array (FPGA) as the main control chip to load parameterized waveforms, pre-stored nonlinear frequency modulation waveforms, and complex waveforms into the high-speed digital-to-analog converter (DAC) to generate signals. At the same time, the arbitrary waveform generator is designed with network interface and optical fiber interface, which can communicate with the host computer, so that users can generate custom waveforms according to the electromagnetic environment of the battlefield, which effectively improves the anti-interference ability of the radar. The article elaborates the hardware and software design of this arbitrary waveform generator in detail, and gives the test results. This arbitrary waveform generator has been widely used in various radars.
