Abstract
In this paper, for upper atmospheric wind measurement, according to the requirement of the optical path difference, we present a stable, high throughput and wide field-of-view modified Sagnac interferometer for upper atmospheric wind measurement. We analyze the main performances of the modified Sagnac interferometer, and results show that the modified Sagnac interferometer is more suitable for upper atmospheric wind measurement than the Michelson interferometer. Finally, we point out the measurement pattern with the modified Sagnac interferometer.
