Abstract
This chapter presents a discussion on the current state of research on the Mark's Gospel and the question of the historical and current context-plausibility. In the 1990s the history of interpretation of Mark's Gospel shows three main approaches: new redactional criticism, narrative criticism, historical genre criticism. The synchronic method won the priority over the diachronic method. The coherence of the Markan text-signals can be created by the criterion of historical and present context-plausibility. The historical context-plausibility amplifies this view for every reader of the Greco-Roman world. Mark's Gospel narrates a public singular life with the coming and open future of God. With a permanent dialogue and struggle of methods and approaches this Gospel opens the way to its new reality. The original text of the chapter is in German.
