Abstract

The influence of thermoelectric parameters of high-speed steels (HSS) on their tribological properties during friction with structural materials without lubricant is investigated. It is established that the friction of HSS with low thermo-EMF is accompanied by an intensive growth of secondary structures in the gap of the friction pair, and the formed intermediate layer has a high shielding effect, which minimizes the change in the microrelief of the contacting surfaces relative to the initial state. Keywords: high speed steel, absolute thermo-EMF, friction, lubricant, surface roughness parameter. fominoff83@mail.ru
