Abstract
A theoretical prediction of the dependence of the ultrasonic cavitation threshold for sonoluminescence on the acoustic frequency is presented. Data were obtained from the numerical solution of nonlinear oscillations of a single isolated gas-filled bubble in a viscous compressible liquid. Principal reasons for the increase of cavitation threshold with acoustic frequency and liquid viscosity are also briefly discussed.
