Abstract

The dependence of cell gap on the anisotropic phase separation of liquid crystal and polymer composites was studied by numerical simulation and experimentation. Numerical results showed that the phase separation morphology depends on cell gap and material parameters. The optimal range of cell gap in the formation of the polymer and liquid crystal layers was suggested with the given material parameters.
