Abstract

θ-ANTIGENS are differentiation antigens present on the cell surface of thymocytes, thymus-derived lymphocytes, brain and epidermal cells of mice1–4. There are two specificities, θ-AKR and θ-C3H, which are believed to be allelic products and which are distributed reciprocally among the various inbred mouse strains. This paper shows that the θ-AKR antigen is also present on cells of thymus, lymph nodes and brain of the four rat strains tested.
