Among applicants 39,332 cases were out patients, and 1,707 cases were treated in the observation unit of the pediatric emergency service. Among 1,707 patients who were observed, 1276 of them were discharged, and 430 (3.5 %) patients were hospitalized. When we analyzed 1,707 cases, we obtained the following results: males (n= 903 cases; 52.9 %), females (n=804: 47.1 %); acute episodes (n=1.359 (79.6 %); acute exacer- bation of chronic diseases (n= 380; 20.4 %). Among acute cases, acute gastroenteritis was the most frequent (37.2 %) For acute diseases discharge rate was 78.4 % and average treatment time was 5,1 hours.
