Abstract

Delhi 76 is a new bright (flue-cured) tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum L.) with superior yield, reduced ground sucker development, better quality, more easily cured leaf and higher disease tolerance than Delhi 34, the presently recommended flue-cured cultivar in Ontario. It was licensed on 19 Nov. 1976. Breeder seed of Delhi 76 is maintained by Agriculture Canada, Research Station, Delhi, Ontario.
