Abstract

Today's world is undergoing significant developments with globalization, space age technology and the COVID 19 pandemic, one of the biggest events of the century we live in. These developments deeply affect the tourism system, which operates depending on cultural interaction, major investments, socio-political relations, and mainly human mobility. At this point, two important dimensions stand out. First, environmental distortions, economic fluctuations, wars, technological transformations and outbreaks observed on a global scale; The second one is the transformations that occur in human behavior and preferences depending on the changing time. While it is seen that both dimensions directly shape global tourism activities, on the other hand, it is thought that it gives negative messages about the future of tourism. With similar discourse, it can be predicted that the extraordinary developments experienced today may be the dystopia of tourism in the future. Therefore, it is considered necessary to handle the phenomenon of tourism in terms of behavior, culture, economy and environment for a stronger perspective. From this point of view, today's tourism movement has been interpreted based on the socio-cultural, socio-political and environmental developments of the changing world and suggestions have been made.
