Abstract
It is shown that there is a unique configuration of toroidal magnetic surfaces. This configuration corresponds to more than one plasma equilibrium. It is the configuration of isodynamic equilibria. These equilibria include toroidal minimum-B equilibria and the distinction between these unstable systems and the stable minimum-B mirror systems is discussed.
