Abstract

A filter technique for deconvolution of gravity data due to an infinite horizontal slab with laterally varying density is described. The inverse filtering is performed in the spectral domain. Numerical calculations are carried out by using fast discrete Fourier transform (FFT) algorithm. Synthetic examples prove the accuracy of the method. To demonstrate the practical use, the filter technique is applied to a gravity profile in the Grossvenediger area (Austria).
