Abstract
The half-life and radiations of yttrium-85 have been studied with scintillation beta and gamma spectrometers. The half-life has been measured to be 3.25±0.25 h. Three positon groups have been found with end energies 2.1±0.10 MeV, 1.54±0.10 MeV and 1.16±0.10 MeV. Several gamma rays have been found at energies 230 keV, 510 keV (composite includes annihilation), 720 keV and 920 keV. On the basis of sum and coincidence studies, a level scheme for Sr 85 is proposed.
