Abstract
The debate of genetic or transgenic modified food concerns scientific and factual issues, ethical and value issues, legal issues, institutional issues, risk assessment issues, societal issues, safety issues, lack of forum to debate, genetically modified organisms (GMO) benefits (what they are, what they do), barriers to GMO (are they real or based on promise or Hysteria). This article analyzes the legal issues by discussing decisions of the World Trade Organization (WTO), legislation and cases of the United States and the European Union and find that at the end of this debate all positions will or already have solidified without any type of legal synergy.
