Abstract

The most frequent colors for cars today are white, gray and black. Coatings company Axalta however recently announced their global automotive color for 2022 to be “Royal Magenta”, a very dark, purplish red, described by Axalta as luxurious and elegant, with a mysterious dark look at night and berry red in sunlight. DCL – a provider of pigments and dispersions for the coatings, plastics and ink industries – subsequently announced that their latest acquisition of perylene and quinacridone pigments from the Bushy Park manufacturing site will serve this magenta color trend.
