Abstract

Conclusions: The most striking feature among these minority young women was that drinking by the victim or perpetrator was unrelated to rape or attempted rape. Rather past physical aggression was associated with completed or attempted date/acquaintance rape. Among those experiencing sexual coercion the context of their relationship suggests a pattern of coercion including pressure to use alcohol and verbal aggression. (excerpt)
