Abstract

The German Broadcasting Archives (Deutsches Rundfunkarchiv, DRA) in Frankfurt is a joint institution of the Association of publicservice broadcasting organisations of the Federal Republic of Germany (ARD) including RIAS BERLIN. The DRA collects, files, researches and makes accessible sound, picture and script documents concerning broadcasting in broadest sense. It has a Central-Catalogue to register radio and television programmes, a phonothek with historical soundrecordings of musical and contemporary history and Historical Archives for script documents and other papers concerning broadcasting history. The Central Cataloguing of Records (Zentrale Schallplattenkatalogisierung, ZSK) registers by EDP all record novelties of light music.
