Abstract

Objective To investigate the significance of change of EMT-associated proteins in colon cancer patients treated with D-CIK.Methods The study included 34 cases of advanced colon cancer undergoing D-CIK treatment. The EMT-associated molecules in peripheral blood were detected before and after treatment.Treatment-related adverse reactions were also observed during treatment progress.Result D-CIK treatment reduced the expression of Twist and Vimentin in peripheral blood of colon cancer patients, and no significant adverse reactions were observed. Conclusion D-CIK treatment can reduce the expression of Twist and Vimentin mRNA in circulating colorectal cancer cells. Key words: D-CIK; Colon cancer; Circulating tumor cell; Epithelial-mesenchymal transition
