Abstract

The following publication represents chapter three of A warning against miasmas written by distinguished physicians for the simple folk by Malcher Piotrkowita. This literary work was published with no print location, year nor printer’s name specified after 5th January 1579. A warning against miasmas written by distinguished physicians for the simple folk was never re-printed and preserved in its original version, which is stored in The National Museum in Cracow / The Princes Czartoryski Museum. In chapter three Piotrkowita outlined sanitary recommendations aimed at mitigating the effects of epidemic (e.g. disinfection, quarantine, social distancing, social isolation, closing public utility buildings).
