Abstract
Objective study of bladder function in cases of neurologic disease is certain to add to knowledge of the anatomy and physiology of the neurologic control of the bladder. Suitable apparatus for recording bladder pressure graphically is necessary for study of bladder function. In a previous paper1we described a cystometer that combines the sensitivity of a water manometer with a continuous permanent record of bladder pressure. Later2we described an electrocystometrograph that eliminated the Harvard kymograph, smoked paper and breakable glass float of the first instrument. The latter instrument, although very sensitive to slight changes in pressure, is compact, durable and easily carried in the hand. These instruments have made it possible to study bladder function in a variety of patients with neurologic lesions and to have permanent records of their bladder function at various times.
