Abstract

The influence of plastic deformation of the surface layer of EK79-ID alloy specimens on the characteristics of their cyclic fracture toughness is considered in the working temperature range. Plastic hardening of the surface layer is found to lead to an increase in the threshold stress intensity factor at room and elevated temperatures.
