Abstract

Money is never far from most people's minds at home or at work. Even at a time of low inflation, as tax increases begin to bite, people look for ways of making up the difference in their living standards and preferably through their pay packet. Companies on the other hand have to anticipate the need for incentives to overcome skill shortages as the economy starts to expand and start to look for ways of ensuring that they hold on to their key people. Changes in reward systems are therefore always on the topical agenda. Here, the author examines what forms are they currently taking.
