Abstract

The present paper is focused on the chronology of the Bronze Age in the territory of the Minusinsk basins (Republic of Khakassia and south of Krasnoyarsk District, Russia). The major chronological schemes created by S. A. Teploukhov and M. P. Gryaznov are presented. The main part of the paper is concerned with the modern views on the relative and absolute chronology of the archaeological cultures of this period and their relationship with previously used schemes. Particular attention is paid to defining the chronological stages of the Okunev Culture and the Late Bronze Age. This paper also presents radiocarbon dating results for the sites.
