Abstract

Dual-redundancy permanent magnet synchronous motors (DRPMSMs) are widely used in industrial applications due to the high reliability, however, the dual-winding structure can cause the phase current imblance between the two stators, which may lead to torque imbalance, increased motor torque ripple and degraded performance of control system. This paper proposes a method of current sharing for DRPMSM based on the sliding-mode control (SMC) with fuzzy logic control. While current sharing can be achieved using fixed-parameter SMC control, the robustness of the system is not satisfied. The fuzzy controller is incorporated in the system to solve this problem. The effectiveness of the proposed method has been verified by simulations in Matlab. A comparison with the conventional SMC method demonstrates the priority of the proposed method.
