Abstract

This paper explores the magnetic inverse problem of reconstructing the current density distribution in low-voltage circuit breakers by inverting its magnetic field. The focus is on the modeling and solution phase for the stationary configuration where the effect of magnetization in splitters is considered. A new reconstruction procedure is proposed in this paper by taking the magnetization as a mapping from the source domain. We have followed the standard method of least squares approximation by Tikhonov regularization complemented by quasi-optimality criterion for regularization parameter selection. The influence of permeability on the inverse solution are studied. The numerical results show that good spatial resolution of current density distributions can be obtained by the approach proposed here.
