Abstract

The crystal structure of the nickel(II) perchlorate complex with a chiral dioxatetraazamacrocyclic ligand (L) based on the natural monoterpene (+)-3-carene was determined by XRD (X8 APEX diffractometer, MoKα, 2θ max = 50°, 4278 Fhkl, R = 0.0290). Monoclinic crystals with a = 11.3550(2) A, b = 9.4850(2) A, c = 14.0209(3) A; β = 104.645(1)°, V = 1461.02(5) A3, Z = 2, space group P21. According to XRD data, the complex has a composition [NiL](ClO4)2·H2O. Its ionic structure is composed of [NiL]2+ complex cations, ClO4− outer-spheric anions, and crystal water molecules. In the complex cation, the NiN4 coordination unit is a tetrahedrally distorted square formed by coordination of the tetradentate cycle-forming ligand L.
