Abstract

Two crystal analyser type quasielastic neutron spectrometers, a conventional resolution device with high efficiency, and a high resolution one with a wide energy window, have been installed at a spallation pulsed cold neutron source (a 20 K methane moderator). A data reduction program using a technique of statistical data analysis has also been developed. These spectrometers combined with the data reduction program have demonstrated their usefulness in profile analysis studies for low energy diffusive phenomena in molecular liquids, polymers and other materials.
