Abstract

Nowadays, with the development of high-performance protocols for wireless networks, WLANs are becoming a feasible solution for low-cost deployment of telecommunication networks. In this framework, congestion control is becoming a relevant issue, especially in the scenario of multi-hop wireless LANs. The paper proposes a novel method based on TCP to improve congestion control over multi-hop wireless networks, by providing means to effectively measure bandwidth and delay on the data path. Results underline the effectiveness of the proposed solution for the performance improvement of next-generation multi-hop wireless networks.
