Abstract
A simple theoretical model is suggested to study a quasi two-dimensional harmonically trapped Bose gas. An accurate density of states approach for this system is parametrized. The outcome thermodynamical parameters calculated from this approach include interatomic interaction and anisotropy of the potential effects. The condensed atom number and the critical points are calculated. The obtained results include the correction due to the lattice potential. There is a good agreement between the calculated results and the experimental measured data of Krüger et al. [Phys. Rev. Lett. 99 (2007) 040402], assuming the subsequent formation of the condensates in a multi-lattice planes. Consequently, other thermodynamical parameters relevant to current experiments using the same potential can be derived directly using this approach.
