Abstract
In this article we will reflect on the growing criminalization of protest and demands of the Mapuche people in southern Chile, while the State politics of fear, from harassment and imprisonment of their ancestral authorities: the machi. Specifically board for Pilmaiquen: occupation of sacred space Ngen Mapu Kintuante by the hydroelectric Pilmaiquen S.A. for the construction of a dam, and the imprisonment of Millaray Huichalaf machi, who has led in recent years, the struggle against this mega project.

En este artículo reflexionaremos sobre el proceso creciente de criminalización de la protesta y las demandas del pueblo mapuche en el sur de Chile, en tanto política del miedo del Estado, a partir del hostigamiento y encarcelamiento de sus autoridades ancestrales: los y las machi. Específicamente abordaremos el caso de Pilmaiquén: la ocupación del espacio sagrado Ngen Mapu Kintuante por parte de la Hidroeléctrica Pilmaiquén S.A. para la construcción de una represa, y el encarcelamiento de la machi Millaray Huichalaf, quien ha encabezado en estos años, la lucha en contra de este mega proyecto
