Abstract

We analyzed the coupling of chemical oscillations between cation-exchange resin beads loaded with a metal catalyst for the Belousov-Zhabotinsky (BZ) reaction. We observed two different oscillatory behaviors, i.e. global oscillations (GO) and traveling waves (TW). We noted that the features of synchronization between the two coupled beads under the initial conditions for GO are different from those under the initial conditions for TW.
