Abstract

Flow improvers or wax crystal modifiers are synthetic additives (generally ashless polymeric compounds) that when added at low concentrations to crude oils and their distillates improve their flow characteristics. This paper puts forward a cost-benefit analysis of flow improvers injection in a 67 Km long planned transit oil pipeline at different dosage rates and costs.
