(2020), published in New Phytologist volume 225, pages 1383–1396. The authors of Pommerrenig et al. (2020) sincerely regret the failure to cite the preprint article by A. C. Borstlap entitled ‘Plant aquaporins: the origin of NIPs’ published in bioRxiv (doi: 10.1101/351064), which first aired the likelihood of a cyanobacterial origin of NIPs and pointed to the presence of two NIPs in the streptophyte green alga Klebsormidium nitens. We apologize to our readers for this. References Borstlap AC. 2018.
