Abstract

he idea of bioceanic corridors (BC) has arisen from the governments, managerial and union sectors, public officials of the three levels and leaders of political parties that have outlined them as strategic mega projects and as contemporary organizational phenomena that have as purpose to reach the best use of the benefits that are derived of their geographical position (geopolitics), better use or seas, ports and costs. Particularly, those countries that have access to two oceans like Mexico, the Central American countries, as well as Argentina, Brazil and Chile for their extensive coasts whose aspirations are to enlarge their international trade (geoeconomy) in order to have a bigger participation in the world exports. This great vision of the BC shows them like new forms of intergovernmental organizations that involve central government, states and municipalities. Also, they point out a traffic from an ocean to another through the continent, they use the existent ways to unite ports and to promote the developments of the interior, generating the creation of industrial ports, scientific and technological cities or clusters to promote a productive restructuring with base in the natural resources and escalation of the international trade. The BC constitutes strategic mega projects of great impact in the geopolitics and geoeconomy of many countries of the region and, particularly, of those nations that have a vocation to be countries ports, not only in North America but also in Central America and South America.
