Abstract

Abstract The inflight calibration data of coastal zone colour scanner (CZCS) data for several scenes have been studied and it is shown that the calibration has changed with time. This variation cannot be neglected if one intends to extract quantitative information about suspended material in the sea from the CZCS data. This variation has been studied statistically and a set of correction formulae has been obtained for each of bands 1–4.
