Abstract
[1] In the paper “Precise determination of Phanerozoic zircon Pb/Pb age by multicollector SIMS without external standardization” by Xian-Hua Li et al. (Geochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, 10, Q04010, doi:10.1029/2009GC002400, 2009) a reference was inadvertently omitted in section 4.1 for monocollector mode zircon U-Pb dating. The second sentence in paragraph 17 should read as follows: Precise mass calibration was kept by using an automatic routine in the Cameca Customisable Ion Probe Software (CIPS) to scan over large peaks such as 94Zr216O and 177Hf16O2 and extrapolate the mass to B field curve for peaks between these reference points [Whitehouse and Kamber, 2005].
