Abstract

I am very thankful to Professor B. L. R. Shawyer for pointing out errors in my paper On strong Riesz summability factors of infinite series, Proc. Amer. Math. Soc. 18 (1967), 959-966. The most serious of these errors is the unwarranted assumption that [R, X, k, ml-sum of Ea.=O implies that [R, +(X), k, m] sum of Ea4z6(X\) is equal to zero. This vitiates the proof of the theorem. It is likely that the theorem can be proved under the additional hypotheses
