Abstract

The standard methods are reviewed and an alternative, simple approach is proposed for a common problem in themeasurement of luminous or radiant flux: that of deriving anonlinearity correction from double-aperture measurements on thephotodetector. The new algorithm is useful for measurementsspanning several decades in the magnitude of the flux. It enables full use to be made of all available flux-doubling dataincluding measurements taken at much closer intervals than abinary sequence of flux multiples and measurement sets whichcontain several overlapping binary sequences.
