Abstract

IntroductionThere is no doubt that physical exercise is beneficial in the healthy population as well as in patients with cardiopathy. Cardiac evaluationNevertheless, suitable previous evaluation including anamnesis, physical examination, electrocardiogram and echocardiogram make it possible to rule out the population with underlying structural cardiopathy at risk of suffering problems due to practicing sport. These tests are important for the whole population, regardless of their cardiovascular status, age and level of training or sport capacity, and they would make it possible to drastically reduce the incidence of sudden death in sport. Cardiac rehabilitationIs now one of the keystones in the recovery of patients with cardiopathy following a cardiac event, with a marked reduction in convalescence time and symptomatic, functional, emotional and prognostic improvement, as well as a reduction in morbimortality and improvement in quality of life.
