Abstract
Curses upon any one stealing the book are also of course common. The following particular case of the two combined struck me as more novel, though it may be familiar to others. It occurs at the close of a very neat and legible, though only partial copy (Book 1 and part of Book 2 seem missing) of the De mineralibus of Albertus Magnus in a manuscript of perhaps the thirteenth century in the collection formerly belonging to the Elector Palatine and now in the Vatican.
