Abstract

The present work, six different equations of state (EOS), have been used for studying Copper under high pressure at room temperature, by studying variation of different thermodynamical parameters in particular, variations in bulk modulus and Grüneisen parameter, which are represent a promising approach for modeling universal EOS for solids. On comparing our predicted results, obtained by using the different EOS, with experimental data, one notice that all the six EOS gives agreement with experimental data for relatively low pressure. The best agreement with experimental data, with increasing pressure, have been shown by the results calculated by Bardeen, Brennan – Stacey and Vinet EOS. While results predicted by using Birch – Murnaghan EOS shows slightly less agreement with experimental data. The results calculated by using both Murnaghan EOS and Thomsen EOS at higher pressure shows disagreement with experimental data and with our theoretical results.
