Abstract

The K-conversion coefficient of the 426 keV transition in Hg 196 has been measured using the electron-gamma coincidence method. The result obtained for α K(426) = 0.0268 ± 0.0028 is in good agreement with the theoretical values for pure E2 transition calculated by Rose and by Sliv and Band.
