The conversation has an essential role in the sustainability of an interaction. Conversation cannot be understood from these forms alone. That understanding must be linked to the context of the events taking place when the conversation occurred. This paper seeks to identify the forms of speech acts in Al-'Arabiyah Al-Mu'ashirah volume 1, taught at the university level, UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya. This research uses descriptive qualitative and quantitative methods. The data analysis technique uses the concept of Miles and Huberman, which is used to analyze data containing speech acts in a conversation. This research finds three speech acts in the book: locutionary of 40 expressions, 166 expressions of illocutionary, and 16 perlocutionary. The most widely used patterns are illocutionary speech acts: assertive, directive, declarative, commissive, and expressive. These results indicate that the lesson h}iwa>r is almost always related to the conversation context. So, more is needed to learn conversation to explain the texts.

In this case, the researcher investigates the students from Kuala Lumpur who study in Da’wa and Communication Faculty UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya. They have difficulties understanding Indonesian Grammar. Such as, when they write a scientific papers or academic assignments, papers, and theses. The factors that make them experience problems in understanding Indonesian are derived from internal and external factors. Internal factors are in their spirit to learn Indonesian and External influences have a significant impact on their ability to learn Indonesian verbally and in writing. UIN Sunan Ampel has a BIPA program. This is placeis for learning Indonesian language skills (speaking, writing, reading, and listening) for language speaking. This research applied a type of qualitative descriptive research. It aims to describe, analyze, and provide an accurate systematic description of the communication problems experienced by Kuala Lumpur international students pursuing undergraduate education at UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya. The research data were obtained from observations and interviews with research subjects. The researcher used a case study for this research approach. This research was conducted on five international students from Kuala Lumpur in semesters 4, and 8 at UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya, in semesters 6 there are no students from Kuala Lumpur precisely at the Faculty of Da'wah and Communication. All data collected is analyzed, and then the results are written into a series of sentences in paragraphs. The qualitative descriptive method was applied in this study through observation and interviews. This study found that the understanding of language experienced by Kuala Lumpur. The factors that make them experience problems in understanding Indonesian are derived from internal and external factors. Internal factors themselves and external influences have a significant impact on Kuala Lumpur students' ability to learn Indonesian verbally and in writing a student lies in understanding written and spoken. AbstrakDalam hal ini, peneliti menyelidiki mahasiswa asal Kuala Lumpur yang belajar di Fakultas Dakwah dan Komunikasi UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya. Mereka kesulitan memahami Tata Bahasa Indonesia. Misalnya saja ketika mereka menulis karya ilmiah atau tugas akademik, makalah, dan tesis. Faktor yang membuat mereka mengalami kendala dalam memahami bahasa Indonesia berasal dari faktor internal dan eksternal. Faktor internal yaitu semangat mereka untuk belajar bahasa Indonesia dan pengaruh Eksternal mempunyai pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap kemampuan mereka dalam belajar bahasa Indonesia lisan dan tulisan. UIN Sunan Ampel mempunyai program BIPA. Tempat ini untuk pembelajaran keterampilan berbahasa Indonesia (berbicara, menulis, membaca, dan mendengarkan) untuk berbicara bahasa. Dalam penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan, menganalisis, dan memberikan gambaran sistematis yang akurat mengenai permasalahan komunikasi yang dialami mahasiswa internasional Kuala Lumpur yang menempuh pendidikan sarjana di UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya. Data penelitian diperoleh dari observasi dan wawancara terhadap subjek penelitian. Peneliti menggunakan studi kasus untuk pendekatan penelitian ini. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada lima mahasiswa internasional asal Kuala Lumpur semester 4, dan 8 di UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya, pada semester 6 tidak ada mahasiswa asal Kuala Lumpur tepatnya di Fakultas Dakwah dan Komunikasi. Seluruh data yang terkumpul dianalisis, kemudian hasilnya dituliskan dalam rangkaian kalimat dalam paragraf. Metode deskriptif kualitatif diterapkan dalam penelitian ini melalui observasi dan wawancara. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa pemahaman bahasa dialami oleh Kuala Lumpur. Faktor yang membuat mereka mengalami kendala dalam memahami bahasa Indonesia berasal dari faktor internal dan eksternal. Faktor Internal dalam diri sendiri dan Pengaruh Eksternal Eksternal mempunyai pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap kemampuan siswa Kuala Lumpur dalam belajar bahasa Indonesia lisan dan tulisan. Siswa terletak pada pemahaman tulisan dan lisan.

This research aims to determine the influence of teaching quality and complementary facilities on student achievement at the Faculty of Da'wah and Communication (FDK) UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya. Researchers used quantitative methods with non-parametric tests to analyze. Data collection was carried out through questionnaires distributed to 33 FDK UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya students. This research provides results that can be connected, namely that the quality of teaching partially influences the achievement of students at the Faculty of Da'wah and Communication, UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya, just as complementary facilities influence the achievement of students at the Faculty of Da'wah and Communication, UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya. Apart from supporting more effective learning, this research suggests increasing interesting (not boring) lecturer training and providing contemporary facilities so that students at the Faculty of Da'wah and Communication at UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya are more enthusiastic about participating in teaching and learning activities in class. Meanwhile, simultaneously the quality of teaching and complementary facilities influences student achievement at the Faculty of Da'wah and Communication, UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya. Therefore, this second factor can make a significant contribution to increasing student achievement.

The Mini Sharia Bank Laboratory is a facility designed to provide students with practical experience in the field of sharia banking. The mini bank laboratory focuses on developing banking operational practicum activities within the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business at UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya and UIN Antasari Banjarmasin. The use of mini sharia banking laboratories by the two universities is intended to support lecture activities. The success of the Bank Mini Syariah laboratory cannot be separated from a well-running operational management system. This research aims to set up a management laboratory for Bank Mini Syariah UIN Antasari Banjarmasin to improve quality with a comparative study of Bank Mini Syariah UIN Sunan Ampel. This research uses a field approach with a qualitative approach through observation, interviews and documentary studies. The data analysis technique used is to explain patterns or categories, looking for relationships between various concepts. The results of the research found that there are several factors that influence the operational management of the mini sharia bank laboratory at UIN Antasari Banjarmasin and UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya, namely internal factors, human resources, infrastructure, facilities and managerial, while external factors are security and comfort and cooperation.

UIN Sunan Ampel requirements of water are fulfilled from groundwater sources. The groundwater sources of UIN Sunan Ampel are from wells where the water is taken with a water pump. The main problem related to the use of groundwater as a fulfillment of water needs is the decline of its quality. The purpose of this study is to analyze the quality of groundwater at UIN Sunan Ampel, to know the quality of groundwater in UIN Sunan Ampel reviewed by Minister of Health Regulation No. RI. 32 of 2017, Formulating the right steps in improving the quality of ground water at Sunan Ampel UIN towards ECO CAMPUS. This research is a descriptive study, in this study the quality of groundwater sources in Sunan Ampel Surabaya UIN will be described base on 3 parameters of water quality (physics, chemistry and biology). The results indicate differences in groundwater quality at UIN Sunan Ampel in terms of physical, chemical and biological parameters. The quality of groundwater sources in UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya 95% fulfills the standard of environmental health standards and water health requirements for government sanitation hygiene requirements based on physics parameters, but it do not fulfilled the quality standards based on chemical parameters (in the form of pH) and also biology parameters. Improving the quality of ground water at UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya is needed by improving the management system of sewers and latrines as well as standard construction of wells.

Learning Outcomes in Calculating the Qibla Direction Using Spherical Triangles in Law Class

This article aims to analyse the learning outcomes in calculating the qibla direction using the cosine and sine formulas of spherical triangles in the Constitutional Law class of the Faculty of Sharia and Law at UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya during the odd semester of the 2024/2025 academic year. This research employs a mixed-method approach, combining descriptive quantitative and qualitative methods through a case study conducted in the Law class. Data collection was conducted using a questionnaire with a dichotomous scale. The collected data includes information before and after the lecture on calculating the qibla direction, which utilises the cosine and sine formulas of spherical triangles. Furthermore, changes in data before and after the lecture are analysed based on the level of change in the responses to the questionnaires completed by students. Based on the results of the analysis conducted, it was found that many students lacked comprehensive knowledge about the direction of the qibla before the lectures, both from a fiqh and a mathematical perspective. Following the lectures, a significant change occurred in the understanding of this qibla direction, which, mathematically, increased by 65.77%. Meanwhile, in terms of calculation skills for determining the qibla direction, before the lectures were held, only a small fraction of the students stated they could calculate the qibla direction for both areas in Indonesia and outside Indonesia. After the lectures, there was a significant change of 74.32% expressing their ability to calculate the qibla direction for areas in Indonesia, as well as outside Indonesia.

DERADICALIZATION AT STATE ISLAMIC RELIGIOUS UNIVERSITIES IN EAST JAVA, INDONESIA

Deradicalization is important to do in an effort to prevent the academic community from being exposed to radical ideas. Several universities carry out deradicalization policies to prevent the spread of radical understanding in Islamic universities in East Java, Indonesia, such as UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya (UINSA) and UIN Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung (UIN SATU). This study aims to answer two problems: First, how is the deradicalization policy applied at UINSA and UIN SATU; second, how effective is the deradicalization policy at UINSA and UIN SATU. This research is field research with a case approach. The case approach analyzes the role model of deradicalization at UINSA and UIN SATU. The research concluded that the deradicalization policy implemented at UINSA through various forms, including Ma'had activities, regulations on Student and Lecturer Code of Ethics, studies, and seminars on anti-radicalism and terrorism, integration of teaching in Pancasila and Citizenship courses, philosophical Integrated Twin Tower, Nusantara Studies with INNUS (Institute for Nusantara Studies), and the mainstreaming of moderate Islamic understanding. The deradicalization policy applied at UIN SATU uses six models: organizing seminars, studies with the theme of deradicalization, managing ma’had diniyah, Student Code of Ethics, supporting all religious moderation activities, optimizing local wisdom, and creating a learning environment that supports deradicalization programs. The deradicalization program within the scope of UINSA and UIN SATU effectively prevents radicalism on campus.

Factors Hindering Study Completion Among Islamic Economics Undergraduate Students at the State Islamic University of Sunan Ampel Surabaya

This study aims to analyze the factors that hinder on-time graduation (OTG) among students of the Islamic Economics Program at the Faculty of Economics and Islamic Business, UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya. The research employs a descriptive quantitative method with a survey approach. The sample consists of non-OTG students who have studied for more than eight semesters. Data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire encompassing six factors of on-time graduation: motivation, environment, activities, supervisory support, academic proficiency, and economic conditions. The results indicate that based on the average weight, the factors influencing on-time graduation of Islamic Economics students at UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya are, in order, activities, academic proficiency, motivation, supervisory involvement, environment, and economic factors. The activities factor is the only one agreed upon by respondents as the dominant factor, with the primary cause of delayed graduation being the high level of student involvement in activities outside of their studies. These findings have implications for program managers in enhancing academic services and guidance to promote timely graduation for students.

Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia (HTI) was officially disbanded in 2017 by the government accordance with Perppuu No.2 of 2017. The ex-Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia (HTI) did not immediately dissolve their movement, but more massive preaching of Islamic law within the framework of the caliphate in various regions especially on campus. The ex-Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia continue to recruit members by conducting various routine studies of Islam, such as the MALKIS study (Study of Exist Sunday Night) which is routinely carried out by the ex-Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia student community at UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya. The purpose of this research to know and analyze the development and resilience of the ex-Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia student community after was disbanded in the UIN Sunan Ampel campus. This article uses descriptive qualitative research methods to present data and reveal events or facts. The results showed that the resilience of the ex-Hizbut Tahrir Indonesia (HTI) student community at UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya could rise and come out of a stressful after was disbanded.

The transformation of IAIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya to UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya has an impact on changing the epistemology of science. The choice of twin towers as the paradigm needs to be translated to various levels of academic practice, so that the persons of academic community in UIN Sunan Ampel can understand and implement the paradigm. The studies in UIN Sunan Ampel also must be oriented to the paradigm. One of them is in Postgraduate Program, which seeks to develop inter, multi and trans-disciplinary Islamic studies at the level of PhD program. This study found that (1) most of the Stakeholders Postgraduate Program of UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya have good understanding of inter and multidisciplinary Islamic studies; (2) the problems in implementing the inter and multidisciplinary Islamic studies are in four aspects: aspects of students, aspects of lecturers, aspects of curriculum, and aspects of carrying capacity and policies.

The purpose of this study is to describe in depth about 1) policies in improving the quality of Human Resources 2) Standards in improving the quality of Human Resources 3) Implementation in improving the quality of Human Resources 4) Control in improving the quality of Human Resources. This research uses a qualitative type with a phenomenological approach and a multi-site design. Data collection techniques using in-depth interviews, participant observation and documentation study. Data analysis includes single-site and cross-site data analysis, with data analysis techniques: data condensation, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of this study are policies to improve the quality of Human Resources implemented by UIN Maliki and UINSA teaching staff: postgraduate and doctoral advanced study programs, learning by research workshops, short courses, professor acceleration programs, lecturer certification, seminars at local, regional and international levels , training in writing articles and books, short courses and group discussion forums, non-educational staff at UIN Maliki & UINSA: workshops, seminars, character building training, work motivation training, opportunities for Hajj & Umrah pilgrimage, Standards for improving the quality of human resources at UIN Maliki & UINSA: refers to the standards set by the government according to the standards of the Constitution and in accordance with the principles of quality assurance from Deming’s theory. The implementation of the quality of Human Resources carried out by UIN Maliki & UINSA: through the stages of recruitment of Human Resources, selection of Human Resources, and evaluation of Human Resources as well as Quality Control of Human Resources carried out at UIN Maliki & UINSA through: pedagogic competence, personal competence, social competence, and professional competence.

Pengaruh Motivasi, Disiplin Kerja dan Beban Kerja Terhadap Kinerja Pegawai pada Fakultas Sains dan Teknologi UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya

The objective of this study is to determine the effect of work motivation, work discipline, and workload on employee performance at the Faculty of Science and Technology, UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya. The subjects of the study were all employees, both civil servants and non-civil servants, within the Faculty of Science and Technology, UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya, totaling 123 people selected using probability sampling and a saturated sampling technique. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results showed that each variable significantly influenced employee performance at the Faculty of Science and Technology, UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya, when examined individually. Simultaneously, the variables of motivation, discipline, and workload had a significant effect on employee performance, with discipline being the most dominant variable at 41%. The model's R-square was 0.672, meaning 67% of the variation in employee performance could be explained by changes in motivation, discipline, and workload, while the remaining 33% was influenced by other factors not included in the model.

This paper is aimed to arrange teaching material for writing which will enable students to enhance their writing ability by arranging sentences through language pattern (al-anmat al-lughawiyyah). For this purpose to achieve, it is formulated three research questions as follows: 1) how is the composition of teaching material for writing skill that is based on language pattern for PBA students of UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya, 2) how is that teaching material of writing that is based on language pattern implememented for students of PBA department UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya, 3) to what extent is the effectiveness of the teaching material implementation to enhance the ability of arranging sentences through language pattern among the students of PBA department UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya.To answer all those questions, this study employes mixed methods: quantitative through descriptive analysis approach, research and development (R&D), and also the experimental one. Indeed, it aims to examine the effectiveness of students'exercise score based on their pre and post test. Besides, as the population taken is 2nd semester students of PBA department of UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya, it was taken 19 of them to be the samples of this study. At the end, this study shows that the proposed hypothesis is acceptable. It however means that the implementation of teaching material designed to enhance students' writing skill through language pattern is effective for students of PBA department UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya. As counted, the result of pretest was 7.15 and 7.94 for the post test. It fruitfully means that the teaching material that is developed through language pattern is effective to enhance students'writing ability

Enhancing Digital Literacy through Chat GPT: The Impact on Islamic Education Research Skills Among Students at State Islamic University

The application of Chat GPT, an artificial intelligence model, to deepen understanding and improve digital literacy is one of the important technological advances. The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of Chat GPT in enhancing the digital literacy skills of Islamic Education students at UINSA and the urgency of using Chat GPT in Islamic education research. This research includes quantitative research. The data collection technique used a questionnaire with a choice of 4 answers, namely: 1) Strongly Agree (SS) = score 5, 2) Agree (S) = score 4, 3) Agree enough (CS) = score 3, 4) Disagree (TS) = score 2, and 5) Agree (S) = score 1. The data analysis technique uses two types of tests, namely the linearity test to determine whether there is a relationship between the independent variable and the dependent variable and the simple regression test to determine whether there is an influence of the independent variable on the dependent variable. The sampling technique used nonprobability sampling with a purposive sample type with Islamic education research variables at UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya. Informants who were sampled amounted to 20 students. Research using Paul Gilster's digital literacy theory approach resulted in the following conclusions: (1) the results of the linearity test with a value (sig) of 0.183> 0.05 means that there is a relationship between Chat GPT and the digital literacy of Postgraduate PAI students. (2) The results of the simple regression test with a value (sig) of 0.000 <0.05 means that Chat GPT has a significant influence on the digital literacy of Postgraduate PAI students. This study's results indicate that Chat GBT's use contributes to improving students' digital literacy skills, especially in the quality of online research.

The Problem of Vocabulary in Indonesian and Malaysian from Malaysia Students at UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya

Students from Malaysia who study in Indonesia are mostly Malay speakers in their home countries, however they have trouble understanding Indonesian in common word forms. Especially when students produce scholarly papers, theses, or other academic assignments. This latest study investigates the Indonesian language comprehension problem among Malaysian students at UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya. This research focuses on uncovering issues related to what problems they experience and the factors that cause these problems to arise. The qualitative descriptive method was applied in this study through observation and interviews. This study discovered that the key to Malaysian students' language proficiency is their comprehension of both spoken and written language. The factors that make them experience problems in understanding Indonesian are derived from internal and external factors (their adapting environment). External influences have a significant impact on Malaysian students' ability to learn Indonesian verbally and in writing.

The research entitled "Development Strategy for the Zakat Collection Unit (UPZ) of the State Islamic University of Sunan Ampel Surabaya" is a study that aims to answer questions about the development strategy of the Zakat Collection Unit (UPZ) of the Sunan Ampel State Islamic University, Surabaya. The research method used in this research is a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach. Data collection methods used in this study by means of interviews and documentation. The development strategy that has been carried out by UPZ UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya includes, changing the Rector's Decree of UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya to become SK UPZ BAZNAS East Java, conducting a comparative study to UIN North Sumatra and UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang, and collecting in three ways, namely, picking up zakat. directly to muzakki, bank transfer, and via barcode code. The development strategy that has been carried out by UPZ UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya is not optimal. UPZ UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya must maximize the supporting factors of its development and find the right solution in overcoming the existing inhibiting factors so that zakat management at UPZ UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya runs optimally.
