Abstract

Edward S. Truppman, MD, Aventura, FL , is a board-certified plastic surgeon and an ASAPS member. Saline breast implants have been a part of the plastic surgery armamentarium since 1968. In 1992, the United States Food and Drug Administration placed restrictions on the use of gel implants. Since then, saline breast implants have been the mainstay of cosmetic and reconstructive breast surgery.
