Abstract

In This work, we present a Modulated Hysteresis Current Control (MHCC) strategy applied to control the grid side converter in a wind energy conversion systems (WECs) associated to a flywheel energy storage system (FESS). The goal of this control is to lead to a constant switching frequency in the converter, low THD in grid current and a unit power factor. The simulation results, obtained with a variable wind profile, show an adequate dynamic of the conversion system using MHCC strategy compared to the results of the same conversion system with the classical Hysteresis Current Control (HCC) and a Sine Pulse Width Modulation (SPWM).
