Abstract

This article proposes to devise the territorial reorganization and environmental planning of the northern region of the Brazilian state of Rio de Janeiro, following the implementation of the Acu Port Industrial Complex and its impacts. Thus, we propose three guiding strategies of the urban and environmental planning: geomorphological analysis of the area under study; to rethink the macro drainage system; and the use of Geographical Information System as a support resource for the territory management.
