Abstract

AbstractThe contact repellent effect of 24 new chemicals was assessed in a laboratory technique which used treated baits exposed to the sheep blowfly Lucilia cuprina Wied. The effect of some of the chemicals as antifeedants was also examined. An “Index of Repellency” and an “Index of Antifeedancy” were devised to give a reliable assessment of activity.
