Abstract

Applied Water Management Inc., a subsidiary of E'town Corporation, has been awarded a 20‐year contract to operate the wastewater treatment and recycling system for CMGi Field, the new home of football's New England Patriots that has been constructed in Foxboro, Mass. Designed and built by Applied Water Management, the stadium's system is one of the largest wastewater recycling systems in the Northeast. Wastewater generated from the stadium will be treated and recycled for reuse as flushwater in the stadium toilets. It is anticipated that 80% of the wastewater will be directly recycled at the stadium and 20% will be used to recharge groundwater. Membrane bioreactor technology was used to achieve the water quality mandated by the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection.
