Abstract
Abstract3‐Methylene‐substituted oxindoles play crucial roles as pharmaceutically important reagents as well as valuable synthons in medicinal and organic synthesis. In this study, a uniform nucleophilic vinylic substitution (SNV) reaction for the construction of phosphonyl and sulfonyl substituted 3‐methylene‐oxindole was developed with the application of (E)‐3‐(nitromethylene) oxindole as powerful precursor. In addition, preliminary study revealed that these synthons have potential applications in both constructing intriguing molecules and serving as antibacterial agents.
