Abstract

This study had the goal of building and validating an instrument to verify students’ perception of higher education courses. For this, the research was carried out in three stages. Initially, a bibliographic survey of variables that impact students’ perception of higher education courses was carried out. In the exploratory stage, the variables found in the literature were ratified and new variables emerged from the field work. Finally, a questionnaire was built and administered to collect students’ perceptions of higher education courses. In the bibliometric stage, 25 variables that impact students’ perception of their higher education courses were found. In the second stage, the 25 variables were confirmed, and 7 new variables emerged. In the third stage, the 32 variables were tested using statistical analyses. Of all, 14 variables were validated, allocated into four constructs. As theoretical contributions of this work, we highlight the validation of an instrument that can gather students’ perceptions and transform them into objective variables and measurable constructs.
